An EML file is a saved email message in the RFC 5322 standard format — the same format used to transmit emails across the internet. EML files are created when you export or save a message from a mail client such as Thunderbird, Apple Mail, or Outlook. They contain the full message including headers, body text, HTML, and any attachments.
This tool imports an EML file directly into your mailbox via IMAP, so the message appears just as it would if it had been delivered normally. This is useful when migrating between mail providers, restoring archived messages, or moving emails between accounts.
To export an email as an EML file: in Thunderbird, drag a message to your desktop. In Apple Mail, drag a message out of the message list. In Outlook, emails are saved as .msg files — use our MSG file viewer to open those.
