Email address checker

Check whether an email address is valid and can receive email – and catch typos like gmial.com before you send. Enter up to 20 addresses, one per line.

Addresses are checked in your browser and never sent to our servers – only their domains are looked up, with Google Public DNS.

What does this check?

  • Format: that the address follows the rules for email addresses (and the stricter rules most providers use).
  • Domain: that the domain exists and has mail (MX) servers – or explicitly says it doesn’t accept email.
  • Provider: who hosts the mailbox, from its mail servers.
  • Typos, disposable and role addresses: common misspellings of popular domains, temporary email services, and shared addresses like info@ or sales@.

It doesn’t contact the mailbox’s server to ask whether the mailbox exists – that’s unreliable, and looks like spam to many servers.

A free tool provided by Auth-Email

Auth-Email makes your Gmail, Outlook, or other OAuth 2.0 email account available to any IMAP, POP3, or SMTP email client — no app passwords or special configuration needed.

Frequently asked questions

Does this check whether a mailbox exists?
No. The only way to check a specific mailbox is to start sending it an email, which many servers treat as suspicious. This checker confirms the address is valid, and that its domain is set up to receive email.

What is a disposable email address?
Disposable (or temporary) email services provide addresses that expire after a short time. They are often used to avoid giving a real address when signing up for something.
