    What is SPF?

SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is a DNS record that lists the servers allowed to send email for your domain. Receiving servers check it to help detect spoofed email, and email providers such as Gmail and Microsoft require SPF or DKIM to deliver your messages.

Each include, a and mx in your record (and in the records it includes) costs a DNS lookup, and SPF allows at most 10. If you use lots of services, the checker will count them for you.

    Frequently asked questions

Where do I add my SPF record?
Add it as a TXT record at the root of your domain (often shown as @) in your DNS provider’s control panel. A domain must only have one SPF record – if you already have one, replace it rather than adding another.

Should I use -all or ~all?
Use ~all (softfail) while you are setting up and checking that all of your email services are included. Once you are confident, switch to -all (fail), which tells receivers to reject anything not listed.
