Managing your email accounts

Use the Auth-Email dashboard to manage the email accounts connected to your Auth-Email account. This guide covers checking account status, changing connection settings, renewing provider access, and removing an account.

Find an account’s settings

  1. Open your Auth-Email dashboard.
  2. Select the account to expand its details.
  3. Use the Configure menu beside the account for account-specific actions.

The expanded details show the configured server settings, enabled protocols, provider, connector, and recent data usage. The status indicator shows when the account was last active, or whether it needs authorization.

Enable or disable a protocol

In the expanded account details, use the switches to enable or disable IMAP, POP, or SMTP. Changes apply to that account. The server connection details are shown only for enabled protocols.

Some protocols or features may not be available on your current plan. If a switch is disabled and the dashboard offers an upgrade link, check your subscription options.

Reauthorize an account

An email provider may expire or revoke the authorization Auth-Email uses to connect. If the dashboard indicates that the account needs authorization, or you receive an account reauthorization email:

  1. Open the account’s Configure menu in the dashboard.
  2. Choose Reset account authorization and follow the authorization prompts.
  3. Complete the setup with the Auth-Email password for this account.

Your Auth-Email password is separate from your email provider password. When reauthorizing, use the existing Auth-Email password if you know it; your email client’s saved settings can then remain the same.

If you forgot the Auth-Email password for an account

Auth-Email does not store this password in a form that can be recovered. Reset the account authorization from the dashboard, authorize the email account again, and choose a new Auth-Email password. Update the password saved in each email client, app, or device that connects to this account.

This does not change your password with your email provider.

Check recent access

Choose Activity log from the account’s Configure menu to view recent login activity for that account. The dashboard displays activity from the past hour.

Delete an account

To remove an account from Auth-Email, choose Delete account from its Configure menu and confirm the action. This removes the account from your Auth-Email dashboard; email clients and devices using its Auth-Email connection will no longer be able to connect through that account.

Deleting an account here does not delete the mailbox or messages at your email provider.
